1. Write Articles

This has been my favorite marketing method now for the past 3 years. Ths is a great way to brand yourself as an expert. The more you write the more your credibility increases. Of course you have to write a bio box and put your website in it. This is how get traffic to your website or blog.

2. Submit To Search Engines

Optimize your website to be search-engine friendly. Then submit it to various search engines and directories.

In addition to major search engines such as MSN, Yahoo, and Google, you should submit to lesser known web directories. If your website is listed in as many places as possible, it can boost your rankings in major search engines as well.

If you do not want to submit it yourself try Search Engine Blaster. I use this every week and it is easy to set up and then you just forget about it.

3. Comment On Blogs

Posting comments in other people’s blogs is a great way to get backlinks and traffic to your site. Blogging is here to stay and you would be surprised how many people go online everday and just surf their favorite blogs.

One tool I have found to be very helpful is Comment Kahuna. It is free and is a great way to get traffic, get backlinks, get the search engines to love you, and so on.

4. Post In Forums

I have been using this technique for several years now. I have always found that on the days I hang out in my favorite forums my traffic always increases for that day. You get to create a signature file in many of them and this is where you place your website url. Think of it as a classified ad. It works!

5. Traffic Exchanges

I have only recently started using traffic exchanges properly. These are great for branding yourself, branding your business, and getting leads. The key is to promote splash pages that are designed to quickly get contact information. If you will do this it is a great way to build a list and get traffic as well.

Here is an example of a splash page I am running and getting 5-10 leads per day now from traffic exchanges. As you can see all I am trying to do is get contact information I can use to follow up by email and by phone.

Do you realize how many emails you send everyday? If you just add your website address under your name on every email you send out you will get a few clicks on it. You can even create a P.S. and write a short 2 line ad and then place your ulr.

7. Blog and Submit To Social Directories

If you do not have a blog you had better hurry up and get one. Blogger.com offers them for free. So does Word Press. You should be blogging several times a week and then bookmarking your post to OnlyWire.com
