Have you ever heard the words theme bleeding? I did a Google search for it and not much came up. I am only interested in it as it pertains to internet marketing and my website.

I saw the phrase theme bleeding in a post on a discussion forum a few days ago and it stuck in my mind. I have just recently (in the past 6 months and sooner) started developing sub domains for my Team-Schuman website which is built around the theme of make money . My main keywords are make money online, make money at home, and make money fast. As most of this pertains to the internet over the past few years we have branched out to include home business, work at home, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, email marketing, network marketing etc..etc..

What I have done recently is add subdomains on services we are adding including article writing, network marketing, and mortgage refinancing.

So what does this mean and how does it relate to theme bleeding. To have a successful website that ranks high with search engines for various keywords your website needs to have a theme. This simply answers the question of what is your website about. As you develop your website you need to be mindful of relevancy. This means is what I am adding to my site relevant to the theme. If your site is about dogs you would not try and sell products for womens hair care.

So looking at my site is article writing, network marketing, and mortgage refinancing relevant to my website theme of making money. Since they are a sub domain Google is going to view them separately and probably would not penalize my Team-Schuman website for adding them. However I want web pages that are relevant.

I think that article writing is an important part of making money online. Network marketing is one of the ways to make money online. Mortgage refinancing is certainly a way to make money if you reduce debt, cut years off of your mortgage, or put cash in your pocket to use for something like starting a home business.

Theme bleeding takes away from the relevancy of your website by clouding the meaning of what your site is about. The more you bleed away your theme the less likely you will rank high with search engines for your primary keword and secondary keywords.

So ask yourself when you are making changes to your site, or adding a product, “is this relevant?” Is this going to help my visitors enjoy their visit and come back to my site? If the answer is yes go for it. If the answer is no, or you are not sure, then you should probably not add it. If your website is a long term investment in your future you are always better to ere on the side of caution with anything you do to your site. It is your business you are talking about.
