Starting an online business is a dream for many people and it turns into a nightmare for others. I personally am lucky to have stuck with this long enough to figure out how to do it. Most people quit because they get so frustrated from all of the effort and money they spend everyday with no profits coming back to them.

One thing you are going to have to do if you want to start an online business is understand the power of backlinks. A backlink is your website or blog address on another website. Doing link trades used to be a popular way to do that. You put their website url on your website and they put your website url on their website.

Doing it that way really does not work anymore. You are better off to go for one way backlinks to build your link popularity and in turn your website will begin to show up on the search engines for various keyword searches.

I am going to go back to the old link trade ways with a twist. I will offer to trade blog articles in exchange for a link on my blog. You give me a well written article and I will post it along with your resource box on my blog in one of the various categories I have.

In exchange I am going to send you an article with my resource box to put on your blog. As long as it stays there yours will stay on mine. In my case I will hyperlink a keyword phrase I want in my resource box. That phrase will hyperlink to a page on my website or blog.

Starting an Online Business is a Big Picture, but it is the small “Pictures” that will carry you through. What do I mean by that? Is doing Online Business that difficult and boring? Difficult? It is subjective, boring? NOoooo, it is the best thing that ever happened to me, a chance to do business online, to me, it is an enjoyment. But again it is also subjective.

Actually, there are more questions to ask yourself, but if you can answer truthfully to these questions, you will save yourself from being disillusioned by the media hypes.

Get involve with a good system. Don’t go on your own at the initial stage. You need some guidance and information fast. Quickly join, learn and participate in good Forums, don’t just join any forum, cos you don’t want to join forums that only gossip, quarrel among members and just advertise blatantly. You want to join proper Forums that will give you valuable information. You can do a Google search and you will be able to find some good ones. There are many good forums out there, but one Forum you should not miss is Warrior Forum and if you are a member of the PlugInProfits site, you can join free.

Get some good materials to read. You have to be prepared to invest some money to join some membership sites for your learning process. Membership sites like Wealthy Affiliates, Hot Marketing Videos, SureFireWealth, MME2 Secrets Audio Sessions, just to name a few. Why join these memberships? Because these membership sites really give you quality training materials and their customer support services are excellent. There are many good membership sites out there, but to save you the time to go around testing and finding out, this is just a few suggestions. The quickest way to learn is to learn from other peoples’ experiences, successes and failures.
