Do you really need to go through the hassles of setting up your own website to make money with affiliate programs?

From my personal experience the best way to make money with affiliate marketing is to set up personal websites for specific affiliate products or programs.

At the very least if you’re going to promote an affiliate website URL you should purchase your own domain name and redirect it to your affiliate page. When you do this it opens up additional Internet marketing opportunities that you do not have when you promote your affiliate URL directly.

Article marketing and discussion forums are examples of this. Most article directories, and discussion forums, do not want people promoting their affiliate URL.

You can purchase a .com domain name for less than $15 a year and you can get a .info url for $1.99 a year. This is cheap.

You can take it a step further and get website hosting for around $10 a month. Host Gator will let you host an unlimited number of domain names for the same $10 a month.

I do understand the primary problem comes in in designing your website and adding content to it. Fiverr.com is a site where you can find people to do things for you for $5 a project. Again this is very inexpensive to do.

To me the main benefit of hosting your own website is you can pre-sell your prospects before sending them through to your affiliate webpage. This will help increase your sales percentage because people like to hear from a real person before purchasing something.
