One thing about the internet marketing community if you will. There has been a lot of action in it the past couple of months. Actually I go back to last spring when I read a book on social marketing. I personally went full time into internet marketing in April of 2006. Having more time to reflect on my business left me thinking about what I should be doing with and for the traffic my make money website was receiving.

Also around that time I read about the importance of having your visitors add fresh content to your website. It is apparent that websites like MySpace and YouTube mastered that concept in a big way. Of course none of us will get lucky enough to come up with that an idea like that and sell it for $600 Million Dollars like MySpace did, or for $1.6 Billion dollars like YouTube did.

But it does really force all of us to think about how we build our internet marketing businesses no matter what we sell. Google Adsense has been a great ppc affiliate program for myself and many other people as well. So what comes out this past fall. A free report titled “The Death Of Adsense” touting how Google Adsense is not the money maker it once was. Actually the report was a clever way to build the author a mailing list.

Then last weekend a new report titled “The Death Of Internet Marketing” basically laying out the importance of social marketing and how all product launches with the next greatest way to make money online has killed internet marketing the way it is being done. This too way for the author to build his mailing list by paying people $1 for every name they referred to his report.

Now a new short report titled http://www.thedeathofcrap.com/ which really knocks everything going on in the IM community and even names a few names. Short, concise, and thoughtful! This probably makes more sense than the other 2 longer reports that were actually eBooks.

My view on all of this is very simple. The internet is a great place to sell products. Whether they are your own product or someone else’s products you can make money selling it online. I’m talking about actual products outside of the internet marketing niche. I personally have been in this niche for 4 years and can speak for experience when I say that this is a very tough industry to make money in.

My http://www.Team-Schuman.com still ranks very high with Google for various make money online and make money at home keywords. This brings me over 300,000 visitors a year for just these 2 keywords. The problem today is that it would be very tough for you to climb to the top of Google or any search engine for a highly searched keyword without paying for the traffic.

So here is my conclusion. Find a product that means something to you and sell that online. The only thing that matters is that there is a need and desire for what you offer. It needs to be a product that people are going online searching for information on. The fact that this product means something to you is important because you can sell it from your heart and with some level authority.

Of course the basics like getting a website, an email newlsetter for follow-up, blogging on your product or website, etc are the nuts and bolts. But it all starts with the product. I just joined View My Life which is an internet version of scrapping booking tied around a MySpace and YouTube approach. Great product and I think a great money making program as well. What I have done is build my Jeff Schuman Lifebook and now can make money showing it to people.

It doesn’t get much simpler than that. If you can’t talk about yourself what can you talk about. No selling, just sharing. View My Life is open for business in the United States today and opening in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S. Virgin Islands before the end of the year. They will continue to go worldwide in 2007.
