I personally spend less than $100 a month advertising my websites and blogs. In the past I have tried pay per click advertising, ezine advertising, classified advertising, and even buying traffic. What I have found is internet marketing advertising online takes a long term strategy based mostly around elbow grease and a lot of writing.

Here is what I mean by that. In my case the most effective pormotions I do everyday are write an article. Post it in my blog which then pings my post to the main blog directories. I then take that blog post and manually submit it via OnlyWire and several other social directories getting me valuable exposure that way.

Depending on how much time I have I will re-write my article several times using Content Composer. I then submit those versions to at least Article Marketer and Ezine Articles. Sometime I will submit it to some of my other favorite article directories including IdeaMarketers and others.

One of my new favorites is Moxie-Drive Expressions. Leonard Bartholmew has done a tremendous job building his article directory into one that search engines love. Google will take an article you write and submit to Moxie Drive Expressions and put the link to that article on page one in a matter of days or even hours. It is almost as fast as EzineArticles in that regards.

I get a lot of my article ideas from the forum marketing I do. Very simply put I write about what people are wondering about. Just look at the questions being asked and which ones are generating the most discussion. Hop in and get involved. Look those over and come up with and article idea and then expand on that into 400 words or more.

BOOM! You now have a great article that is guaranteed to generate some views and some traffic to your blog or website. I am doing that right here with this blog post.

One thing I do not see discussed that much when it comes to forum marketing is the amount of time it can take to see results from your sig file.

It can be very quickly if you have an interesting hyperlinked keyword phrase combined with a compelling short descriptive sentence. Then over time as you compile more and more posts people will go to your website out of curiostiy just based on that.

The star system is an example of it in the Warrrior and PIPS forum. Just listing the number of posts catches my eye in other forums and I do go to their website just to see what they are up to.

Lastly having an unselfish attitude of wanting to help people seems to pay off with people reciprocating that in terms of visiting your site, clicking on an Google Adsense ad, joining a newsletter, etc.

Forum marketing is time consuming but well worth the effort in the long run. My website writer business, network marketing website, and make money online business have grown considerably in the past year thanks to spending even just one hour a day in discussion forums.

I learn alot myself reading posts. I help other people learn, and I get traffic. The best part is anyone can do it because the cost is free. Internet marketing advertising online does not have to cost you anything in money if you will write articles and hang out in forums.

Not a bad deal at all.
