How To Increase Your Blog Traffic
One of the most common questions I see in internet discussion forums is how to increase your blog traffic.
Good question!
First of all be sure and host your own blog. Do not host it at Blogger.com or some other free blogging platform.
I just read again where someone was hosting several blogs at Blogger and built up an internet income of almost $2,000 a month only to have Google cancel them for some reason. Now they have no blogs and no income and must start from scratch.
When you host your own blog you control everything about it and that will not happen to you. If you use Blogger as your blogging platform be sure and host it in your hosting account.
Now back to how to increase your blog traffic.
1. If you like to blog then spend several hours a day doing it. You need to get noticed and this will really jump start your efforts.
2. Develop a list of longtail keyword phrases for your site and target those in your blog title and in the intro and closing of each blog article.
3. Try making 10 blog posts of 250 words each day. Hire a blog writer if you need a little help at times.
4. Bookmark your blog articles to the top social directories. I use OnlyWire.com to quickly bookmark to multiple directories.
5. Take the same article and post it at EzineArticles.com. This is the largest directory in the world and will help you get more traffic and backlinks.
Do this everyday and you will slowly begin to see more traffic, newsletter subscribers, and sales.
It may take you hundreds of hours to become an expert at one form of online advertising, but stick with it until you have good traffic coming in.
Shoot to get 500 unique visitors a day. Then you can add another form of advertising to branch out and help you target even more traffic.

Great advice Jeff! Doing several small things daily can ultimitely help incease your blog traffic over time. Joining forums and posting in their with your signature link is another great way at building blog traffic.
I’ve never read about that person online losing over $2000 a month when their blogger blogs got canceled. That would suck, all the work to be wasted in a flick of a switch. Wow! I feel so bad for the person. I know I use custom domains myself and I do have my own hosting company so I think I should begin hosting my own too. At least I own all the domains so I would keep link popularity plus have all articles saved to that I ever written as backup.

Hi Jeff
Thank you for this post it is a very good reminder and an excellent action plan to achieve this 500 v/day milestone
Now I always hesitate moving my blog from blogger because it will not be supported Can you tell me what are the limitation of hosting Blogger on your own host
At this time I do not have the capacity to learn WP so do not want to go that way (my Loss)

Hey Jeff,
Great lesson, but as usual, you lay it on pretty thick. Your work ethic reminds me of some of my college professors. 10 blog posts a day! It’s all I can do to be able to get in 1 a day, let alone 10. We have other classes professor. However you are right. I’ve been using OnlyWire for about 2 months now, great resource. I have a question Jeff. I thought that EzineArticles only wanted the originals, and not articles that had already been posted?
