Whether you like Google or hate them you have to admit they really do offer alot for us as Internet marketers. For example, are you aware of the Google Alerts service that is offered for free?

Google Alerts is a service offered by Google which notifies you by email about the latest web and news pages of your choice. I get updates whenever something is published with the words make money online in them.

You can choose whether you want to receive news alerts, web alerts, news and web alerts, or group alerts. Depending on which you choose you get notified when a new posting makes it in the top 10 results for a news alert to the top 50 results on a group alert.

So why should you care?

One thing you can do is quickly post comments on blog posts as you are notified for them. This can give you traffic as well as search engine bait and backlinks. I like to post my name as my keyword phrase and type my actual name in the comment itself.

These alerts are also a great way to be kept up to date on what is going on within your specific niche. You can quickly scan them to determine if there is something that you would like to read more in depth.

If your are really busy you can just delete the Google alerts altogether without paying any attention to them. The choice is totally up to you.

There are many other uses outside of using these alerts for business. If you want to keep track of a sports team or a favorite celebrity this is one way to do it.

If you want to keep track of what current events such as politics for any hurricane for example this would work too.
