There are generally two types of online marketers that I come across every day. Some of them feel like they are going broke with their online business. Let’s take a closer look to determine if you fall into that category.

When it comes to building your online business you will make an investment of both time and money. Do you really know how to value what your time is worth at this point in your online business?

Many people view the cost of operating an online business strictly from a dollar and cents viewpoint. That certainly is important because you are in business to make a profit and you must know what your operating expenses are.

However in the early days of an online business many people invest more time than they actually do money. In reality this could be costing them several hundred or even thousands of dollars every month, and they do not even realize it.

One thing that is nice about an Internet business is it allows you to compensate for what you lack in money by investing more of your time. Ultimately however you need to justify the time you are spending by the return you’re getting back on your investment.

One way to do this is to calculate the worth of your time by assigning an hourly rate to it. If you feel your time is worth $20 an hour, and you are spending 20 hours a week on your Internet business, then at the very least you would hope that you are earning $400 every week just to break even. And of course this does not calculate any actual expenses you might have for advertising, domain names, website hosting, and so on.

When many people step back and calculate it this way they see just how much it is costing them to operate an online marketing business of their own. However I’m not pointing this out to get you to give up and quit.

What I’m hoping you will do is change the way you are looking at your online business and put more of an emphasis on selling products and making money. Too many times people pretended they are an Internet marketer when in reality they’re just wasting their time online every day.

There is so much free training on how to get an online business going that there really is no excuse for anyone to fail. It certainly is not easy or all of us would be millionaires. However doing online marketing can be profitable if you value the time you spend and put all your efforts into making money at it.
