About My Power Mall
I have not posted much recently about My Power Mall, but I thought it was time for an update since Ginny Dye just made a major announcement Monday night.
Effective today, 12-19-07, they are starting a one thing program for all new members. Once you join you have 30 days to make a purchase from your mall to be able to keep your group as you build it.
Then you must make at least one purchase a month after that to be able to keep your downline. If you do not buy from your mall you will not keep whatever group of members that are underneath you.
Here are a few key points.
1. Anyone who joined prior to 12-19-07 is grand fathered into the old program and does not have to make a purchase to keep their group. In my case I now have over 1100 people under me and if I do not make a purchase one month I still get to keep them in my group.
2. This only affects people who want to build a business. People who join as a personal mall can shop whenever they want. People who join as a business mall and lose their group are still in My Power Mall and can shop in their personal mall.
3. There is no minimum amount the required purchase must be. If you buy something like an iTune for .99 cents that still counts as a purchase.
4. The much anticipated MasterCard debit card is available starting today and counts as a purchase. When you fund your card it counts as a purchase. And when you shop in your mall and pay with it you are credited with a purchase.
5. Anyone world wide can get a My Power Mall MasterCard debit card.
This is the highlights. Now here are my thoughts on all of this!
I think the way they have handled this is excellent. This is a shopping program, yet many people have joined for free and never shopped.
I have seen this as a major problem with SFI for the last 5 years. People join as a free affiliate and never buy, or sell anything. Therefore those of us trying to build a business waste our time recruiting and trying to help them.
Even with all of the automated follow up I have wasted thousands of hours on SFI affiliates and gotten very little back from it in return.
Diane and I have been shopping with My Power Mall this year for Christmas when we can. We live in a rural area and feel an obligation to support our local businesses as well or we will not have any local businesses.
Now we will be able to shop from them and use our MPM MasterCard debit card. We will use this for gas, food, restaurants, haircuts, car repair, etc. From here on out I am going to pay for everything I order online for Team-Schuman using my new card as well.
This is a great thing. Plus I love the fact anyone, anywhere in the world, can now get on board with this and shop from themselves, not to mention make money giving away shopping malls.
So in summary I do support this move 100%. When you think about My Power Mall now, this is still the easiest way to make money online I have come across in my 5 years online. You do not have to sell anything! Having said that you do still have to work at giving away shopping malls. And now you will have to make one purchase every month from your business!

It makes sense. Honestly, that was my biggest problem with MPM. You can get people to join, but then they do….nothing. Now at least new people will be aware that they need to make a purchase every month. And with the wide array of stores to choose from, it shouldn’t be too difficult!

This may or may not work and only time will tell. What bothers me is that no specific amount is required to maintain your mall TODAY. Will it be $100.00 next year? Income tax was never supposed to be over 1% when it started but now look at it.

Jeff,
Thanks for the update. So please help me understand this. With the master card provided by power mall, users can use this outside their actual power mall website and would that still count as a purchase to fulfill the new requirement?
Honestly I think it makes total sense that people should use their powermall because don’t they get paid for doing so? So that seems like a no brainer to me.
The problem I think most people face is that we tend to buy electronics, music, etc online. For me this only happens once in a blue moon and especially around xmas time. If there was a way to shop for more practical things like groceries, deodorant, gas, etc. Then I think there would be a lot more use in powermall.
I’ve always hated opportunities where you’re forced to buy from the company you work for. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Now if its really something I’m going to buy anyway and I buy regularly like the items mentioned above and can make money doing it then I’m all for it.
Hopefully you can clarify these points a bit clearer. Maybe I’m missing something here. Thanks again for the information.
