What is the main reason for doing article marketing?

If you write articles primarily for the purpose of generating traffic, and not for search engine bait, then it is important that you get them into the best directories as possible.

This can create a couple of problems for you however!

First of all if you manually submit articles how do you know what the top article directories are that you should be submitting to?

And secondly if you spend your time manually submitting articles how do you get enough of them written to increase your traffic?

In the past I have used various article submission tools including software and article submission companies. I continue to use SubmitYourArticle.com, but in reality I could still create a flow of traffic if I just did article marketing to the right directories.

There are many good article directories on the Internet today, but you should submit your articles to the following top 3 article directories.

My basis for choosing these as the top 3 will be based on their Alexa ranking. If you are going to take time to submit an article to a directory it might as well be in one that is getting a lot of traffic.

1. Ezinearticles.com has an Alexa ranking of 334. That speaks for itself. If you only submit to 1 this should be it.

2. Associatedcontent.com has an Alexa ranking of 1077 which is pretty darn good too!

3. Searchwarp.com is at 6843 and is more than worthwhile to submit to.

Can you submit to more than three? You certainly can and you might even want to come up with a couple others to add to this list.

Here’s the main thing to keep in mind! You can write articles off the top of your head for most of the things in the niche that your website is in.

I would imagine that you can sit down and write an article in 10 to 15 minutes. If you concentrate your time on writing more articles, and in submitting them to the top two or three directories, this will then free you up to write more articles.

If you really understand what I’m saying you want to spend the majority of your time writing and not submitting. By getting your articles into a handful of the top directories you can increase your traffic and free up more time for writing.

This list of the three best article directories is just my personal choices based on the amount of traffic that they get. You may come up with a list of your own, but the bottom line is find a few you like and then spend most of your time writing and not submitting.
