Do You Have An Affiliate Marketing Business

Affiliate marketing is so easy to get into that thousands of
people to it everyday. All you need to do to get started as an
affiliate for a product is fill out a short application. Usually
you do not have to buy anything to get started. So my question
is once you have your affiliate i.d. number that allows you to
selling a product do you have an affiliate marketing business?
Personally I like affiliate marketing. You do not need a
product, you do not have to collect any money, and you do not
have to ship any products. It is to your advantage to have a
website and autoresponder for follow-up, but that is not even
required. All of these reasons are exactly why many people do
not ever make any money.
They sign up in program after program and are now an affiliate
for the product the represent. But the problem is they never
tell anyone about it. If you went to Paris France and hired the
worlds best chef, and brought him back to cook for you in your
brand new restaurant, and never advertised that you had him how
stupid would that be. Yet that is what affiliate marketers do
everyday.
They join an affiliate program that has the best product in the
world and never bother to tell anyone. They do not run any ads,
they do not write any articles, they do not post in any forums,
they do not do any pay per click advertising, and they do not do
any offline marketing either.
Or maybe even worse they try one ad or hand out 100 business
cards and give up thinking they have worked hard to make a sale.
If you want to make money as an affiliate you have to treat it
as a business. This is going to mean putting together an actual
plan for your business. What are your hours you are going to
work? How much money will spend on advertising and marketing?
Who is going to handle the technical things like website
building and email marketing? Who is going to do your book work
and taxes?
When you start you may be the jack of all trades and master of
none. That's o.k. as long as you take the time to plan your work
and then work you plan. Some of the highest paid home business
people make their money selling the products of other people.
They are in the highly respected world of running their own
affiliate marketing business and someday if you treat it as a
business you can join them. I did and it is a great feeling to
get up everyday and run a low overhead, high profit affiliate
marketing business, from the comfort of my own home.
